Dr. Rick Smith has owned Equine Clinic for 20 years. A native of Southwest Missouri, he loves being a veterinarian in the country he grew up in. He has a ranch in Christian county where he enjoys raising children, cattle, and horses.
His hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking, trail riding, and team roping. His German Shorthairs “Dutch “and “Jaeger” are regular companions on hunting trips. (From left to right Rick, Dutch, Jaeger, Wade, and Rylee)
Dr. Heather Tucker is a native to Southwest Missouri. She grew up on a diversified livestock operation in Galena, MO. Heather raised and showed Polled Hereford cattle, sheep, and llamas. She was very involved with FFA and was a past State Vice President. Her undergraduate was attained at C of O and worked on the dairy farm. She obtained a Masters in reproduction at SMSU and graduated University of Missouri Veterinary School in 2002.
Dr. Tucker, her husband, and daughter live in Buffalo, MO, where they have a beef cattle operation. Her daughter is active in 4-H and shows cattle, horses, rabbits, and poultry. Subsequently, Dr. Tucker is a co-leader of the 4-H club and participant of the Dallas County fair board. The families summers are spent showing livestock, trail riding across the US, and kayaking on the Bennet Springs River.
